The fragment experiment

Description of the project:
This project is a 3D PC game called "The fragment experiment" which is a survival game. The game is about slimes clearing up mysterious meteor fragments that appear when the meteors that fall from the sky collide with the ground. Once a slime has collected a certain number of fragments, they grow bigger and you must then allow them to retreat or else if they eat too much they will explode. If too many slimes collide with a meteor or explode from eating too much you will lose the game.
Game Objective:
For the player to survive for as long as possible by preventing the falling meteors from colliding into the slimes and allowing the slimes to collect a certain number of fragments to grow and become well nourished. Although, if they consume too many fragments they will defeat themselves.
Once they have collected a certain amount of fragments they must retreat to the outskirts of the stage. However, some slimes will act differently depending on their nature which will not always be a factor to whether you lose or not.
Game mechanics/Controls(Mouse):
Slime states:
To control the slimes you must navigate to them and click on them with the left mouse button to switch them between collecting fragments and retreating mode.
Project's design values:
For this project I value a variety of core elements such as conflict, strategy, chance, aesthetics and creating a fair game experience. For instance, with conflict I would like to see how the player will engage with having multiple slimes present on the field while being very cautious when leaving them there to gather fragments as a meteor may crash into them and allow the player to lose the game.
Project inspirations:
- Strategy games
- Science documentaries
